Tim Twentyman, of The Detroit News, reports Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz confirmed RB Kevin Smith (shoulder) will not need to undergo surgery on his left shoulder. Still haven't heard a timeline but generally speaking this is good news for FF owners.

He'll need surgery it will just be for a yet undisclosed/experienced injury.

This is good news only if Detroit is not convinced it can downgrade obtaining quality depth.

.

I know, we had so much of that last year. With a surgical procedures becoming so precise along with the length of recovery times as well we have a lot of surprise injuries and surgeries. Many of them was also timed so precisely they allowed the players the excuse to escape voluntary minicamps and OTA's. Surgeries that could've been done a lot earlier were held off and done in a precise window just before the start of training camps.
