"Good" NFL prospect fails drug test

Per Rotoworld:

Profootballtalk.com reports that at least one "good" NFL prospect failed a drug test at last month's Scouting Combine.

We did this post under Ryan Mallett, but he is not known to be the culprit. League policy dictates that failed Combine drug tests not be made public, although they often leak out. This year's prospect reportedly failed his urine test in Indy. Two years ago, former USC LB Brian Cushing was accused of testing positive. He was later suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's policy against steroids and banned substances.

Put this in the Sportsbook, I want to see the odds on Mallett.

And the failed drug tests belong to: Houston and Ballard.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer and Alex Marvez report that Georgia DE/LB Justin Houston failed his drug test at February's Scouting Combine.

Iowa DL Christian Ballard also failed. Ballard already faced question marks about minimal production for his talent, while Houston is regarded as inconsistent on tape. The failed tests will likely keep both out of the first round, although Houston's elite explosiveness and upside should keep him safely in round two. Ballard may be an end-of-the-second-day pick at this point.

Sorry for those of you who had your money on Mallett.

I have said it before, and will say it again now. People will really regret dogging Mallett this year. whoever takes him, will have the best Qb in this damn draft.

I agree Phic. If I'm an NFL team, I'm thrilled that people will drop Mallet from their boards. He's the most talented, NFL ready QB in this draft.
