Class act Michael Bennett has been indicted for allegedly shoving an elderly woman at Super Bowl LI.

A Houston grand jury indicted Bennett on a felony charge of injury of the elderly, stemming from an incident at last year’s Super Bowl. The charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The 66-year-old woman, a stadium employee, sprained a shoulder after Bennett shoved her while trying to rush the field after the game, Houston police chief Art Acevedo said.

Bennett, then with the Seahawks, is a Houston native who was at the game to watch his brother, Martellus, who played with the Patriots at the time.

“I think it’s pretty pathetic that you would put your hands on a 66-year-old paraplegic and just treat them like they don’t exist,” Acevedo said, via FOX Q13.

“He said, ‘You all must not know who I am,'” Acevedo said of Michael Bennett. “‘I could own this [expletive]. I’m going onto the field whether you like it or not.'

there is a lot of chatter that the Giants will deal him. They don't want to pay what he wants for a long term deal - he wants Qb money. Some are saying a deal could be done before or during the draft. Time will tell.....

Issues:
1) need a team with cap space to sign him long term
2) need a team with the pick capital to make a deal with Giants to get him
3) need a coach, GM and Owner who can control him, or at least stomach his attitude.

Big issues to overcome

okay, not a lot of news, that hasn't been covered, so lets talk some rumors.....

1) Rams have had discussions with Giants on Wr Beckham Jr. - supposedly the Giants want a 1st and more...but may be willing to take less. Rams could use Wr help with loss of Watkins in FA.
2) Suh took a one year deal with Rams - $3 million short of his deal with Miami - to cash in next year as an FA....
3) Rumors are Colts got two major trade offers for Brissett and wasn't listening at all - this is telling for two reason - one Brissett has low contract for 2 more years so no cap hurt for Colts and two to date Luck STILL is not throwing passes.....
4) Rumors of the Saints going up for sale got shot down quickly by Mrs Benson - she says she is in it for the long haul - good for N.O.
5) RFA Meredith Wr is on his long tour - visiting Saints now
6) Dez not getting a new contract any time soon - and some rumors have the Cowboys cutting him June 1st or dealing him.....they just signed Deonte Thompson and Allen Hurns
7) Regardless of the crazy acts by Zay Jones - team has said he will remain on the roster.
8) Blaine Gabbert is the new #2 Qb in Tennessee
9) Eagles know what they have in Foles and know his value will only raise if Qb injury happens late in camp or in season - and then they have more confidence Wentz is ready - and they want a boat load for Foles as well......
10) Mayor for London, England is jonesing for an NFL team and a super bowl......God save the Queen...and all of us if that happens.....

Colts coach Frank Reich said Andrew Luck (shoulder) has resumed throwing.

On Monday, owner Jim Irsay said Luck had "turned the corner" in his rehab, and resuming a throwing program would certainly qualify. Reich made it sound like Luck is still in the early stages, but any step forward is promising. It is impossible to feel comfortable with Luck's health until we actually see him on the field, but things appear to be trending in the correct direction.

The Rams are certainly the Belle of the Ball this year. Everyone wants to go there.

From a couple of weeks ago Mathieu went to the Texans on another cheap 1 year deal. We have some pro bowl level players that are more or less picking their destinations rather than making more money on the crappier teams in the league. Its becoming more important these days for teams to really sell their culture, team on the rise, SB opportunities in order to attract FAs. Its not just about the $.

Going back 1-2 years ago with Cutler at qb, an aging roster and lame duck coach staff, no one wanted to sign with the Bears. Now that they have a new coach, young and up&coming QB and seem like they are headed in the right direction, they are getting some interest as a destination of choice.

If the Rams could get OBJ, definitely they become the NFC favourite - you have to think he would cost at least a 1 and a 2 given that the Rams pick late. Giants would also be picking high again next year - early favourite for the 2019 1st overall pick.

also, Bears very likely to match any offer for Meredith. If he gets no offer, he comes back to Chicago for 1.9M per year.

WFAA Dallas reports Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin is under investigation for domestic violence.

Shabrika Bailey, Boykin's girlfriend, accuses the quarterback of choking her until she blacked out. She woke up in a puddle of blood with a broken jaw on both her left and right side. Bailey claims Boykin tried to clean her up himself before driving her to the hospital. When hospital workers began to question the pair, Boykin allegedly fled. Boykin was arrested prior to TCU's bowl game in 2015 for hitting an officer during a bar fight and again last March for marijuana possession and public intoxication.

Shortly there after...

Seahawks released QB Trevone Boykin.

The move functionally ends the oft-arrested Boykin's NFL career. It comes hours after reports surfaced that Boykin was under investigation for domestic violence. Boykin went undrafted in 2016 thanks in part to off-the-field concerns. He's still only 24. Hopefully he can get his life in order.
