I'm actually surprised by this. A) because of what they gave up for him, only a year ago, B) because I would think he would become the #1 receiver.

I think the Cowboys did this for two reasons:

1) Roy Williams cannot cover in open space
2) It was getting annoying having the Roy E. Williams etc. on the backs of the jerseys

and 3, Roy Williams simply sucks.

When you can't cover, and you constantly miss tackles because you are obsessed with laying down a big hit, and the only thing you are really known for at this point is the "horse collar", it is time for you to go somewhere like Detroit :)
