Rams RB Lance Dunbar is out indefinitely with a knee injury.

Bump Gurley up a bit as he should be a 3 down back now.

Jordan Reed saw a specialist for his toe injury on Wednesday, and is without a timetable for a return.

Coach Jay Gruden said Reed was day to day, but intimated it was more week to week. It's not exactly good news after the 'Skins insisted last week that the issue was not serious. Reed is beginning to appear likely to miss preseason games. Ever the injury risk, the Redskins will not rush Reed's return.

CBS' Jason La Canfora has heard "plenty of rumblings" of Andrew Luck (shoulder surgery) beginning the year on the reserve/PUP list, which would cost him six games.

Word of the "rumblings" comes the same day Luck declined to guarantee he would be ready for Week 1. From ownership on down, the Colts have refused to place a timeline on Luck's return. The idea of Week 1 uncertainty hadn't really been taken seriously, but that's no longer an option. La Canfora "wouldn't bet against" Luck missing time in September. The PUP list would be an unlikely worst-case scenario, but it's become clear no one really knows when Luck will be ready to take his place under center.

Sterling Shepard (right leg) was carted off the practice field Wednesday.

Getting carted off is always an ominous sign, and Shepard was apparently in tears as he was leaving the field. It suggests Shepard knows he has a serious injury. Reporters didn't see what happened, but trainers appeared to be examining his right leg.

Sterling Shepard has been diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain.

Whining like a lil' whipped pup.

Really. Usually the full blown crying is reserved for the season ending ACL. Friggin baby

If I had cried every time I sprained an ankle in high school, both my football and basketball coaches would have made me get up and run an extra 10 laps.

When I first read it, I thought maybe they had told him his dad had died as well. Then I would let it slide......................

Well, if he thought it was a major injury that is a different story.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins are "concerned" about Ryan Tannehill's left knee injury.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero adds the team is "fearing the worst." The report is notable both because it suggests the injury is serious and because it confirms the issue is with his left knee, the same knee he suffered a partially torn ACL late last season. Tannehill suffered the setback when he stepped awkwardly while scrambling out of bounds during Thursday's practice.
