NFL Impact
Defensive ends are quickly becoming filled by some of the most athletic players on the field. With the move from 4-3 to 3-4 defenses, coaches look for players that can move from the line, to backer, and to the line again. Brian Orakpo is likely the best DE in the draft this year. He has the quickness, strength, and the brains to play linebacker in any scheme as well. What sets Orakpo apart is his ability to stay in position. You will rarely see him fooled on the field, and has exceptional awareness. In the NFL he will likely run into trouble if he relies too much on his speed. The OTs in the pros are a bit too quick for him to out run them, however he has great hands and plenty of strength to hold his own (Reportedly benches 515 pounds and power cleans 380).
