Redskins and Rams reach deal for #2 overall draft pick

    On Twitter per @AdamSchefter

Redskins send 3 1st's and 1 2nd to the Rams for the 2012 #2 overall pick.

This also signals the end of RG3's career.

    oh snap

a sure sign indy ain't trading their pick.

couldn't washington just start Kerry Collins this year and select that USC QB next year?

    Poor?

    lol

After trading away the foreseeable future, the Redskins will be forced to pay RG3 the maximum allowed by the CBA.
    Think about it!
How do you negotiate a contract with a player who knows what you did to pick him?

There's a good chance his contract will end up making Barry Zito's deal with the Giants look like a minor abrasion.
And not a colossal sore with two seasons to go.

    3 number one's for 1 number 1.

Someone in Washington should be shot.

Selling your future is insane, I don't care who the player is.

and this years second round pick too

If you can make the leap from how well Steve Smith did with his rookie last season
it's not too difficult to imagine Santana Moss having similar success.

That's not how the CBA works anymore. It's very tightly slotted.

Personally, I think the Redskins and their fans could use a bit of excitement and hope. They have some cap room for free agency. The Shanahan clan bought a few years. Daniel Snyder likes sizzle. I think it's a fit. And sometimes, you have to pay the price to go all in. People are always like "you can't trade draft picks!" but the Saints once traded their entire draft and their one the next year. First round draft picks miss as often as they hit. Big deal.

    said, "maximum allowed by CBA".

five year guarantee easy or RG3 can just sit a year and let the 'Skins choke on it.
    But that won't happen.
Washington will pay much wompum and be more than ok with it.

First round picks don't miss nearly as often as they hit when compared to other rounds.
First round misses generally occur when they bet the farm or rely to heavily upon that single pick.

I just thankful it's the Rams getting healthy and not a team I really can't stand that would actually do something with those picks.

Those in St. Louis have to be THRILLED this morning! a 2012 1st; 2012 2nd; 2013 1st (likely will be top 10) and 2014 1st!!!!

King's ransom for sure! They move down just 4 spots and add 2 more 1's and a 2nd, just unbelievable how dumb Washington can be!
