Tebow to Eagles

Honestly, if you look at it imperically, it makes some sense. They lost another solid Wr in FA, so they are left with two rookies from last year and Cooper, and whoever they draft this year. B...U....T..... they have in the backfield - Matthews(signed from SD), Sproles, Murray(signed from dallas) and then Tebow. Could we actually be seeing the reinvention of the Wishbone in Philly??

Maybe, since the "starter" they just got from St.L. can't stay healthy. It won't be pretty, but it could be a whole lot of fun to watch....

I will get serious here. I hope he can stick as the #2, but feel he is probably just a training camp arm. The brass and Kelly realize he is truly driven and feel he will push the others. I hope he impresses. It is a great offense for him.

Seems more like yet another football favor that doesn't really mean too much... also... empirically means according to data... (I know imperically was used... but this is not a word)o_O

I'm an unabashed atheist/agnostic but I have zero problem with Tebow's religious nature. More power to him and he's free to believe whatever he likes.

In fact, I feel that gives Tebow a distinct advantage in the NFL.

My theory goes as follows - the NFL is comprised of a heavily African American / black population as well as a sizable number of white players from the American heartland where football is prevalent.

What do these two constituencies, who up until now have had very little in common.... actually have in common outside of football? Their faith! It's something that's able to bring a black Christian football player from Philadelphia and a white Christian football player from Mississippi together. It gives them a commonality that furthers that locker room bond.

The concern I have with Tim Tebow is that I think he has a poor passing arm. I don't see him as a contender for starting QB where the Eagles are concerned. I do, however, think it's a good signing. The reason is that the NFL is talking about changing the extra point rule and encouraging teams to go for 2-point conversions. If that happens I think that Tebow could be the first ever 2-point conversion specialist in the history of the league. That would warrant his spot on the 53-man roster and get me to root hard for him as the 3rd string QB behind Bradford and Sanchez.
